L’appartement 22 moves to its production and workshop site with as new space conceived and developed as a micro art academy, a return to the Le Bout de Monde exhibitions (2000 – present) and projects that L’appartement 22 itself has cultivated since 2002. The sessions are prepared during research residencies and experienced on a real scale. Numerous sessions for meeting, exchange, and knowledge sharing lead to communication, publications, and productions.
The first sessions:
Session related to The Aesthetic of Existence and Misunderstandings by Jean-Paul Thibeau, February 2005, in multiple locations in Rabat, Morocco;
Production workshop with Adel Abdessemed for his work, Queen Mary 2, summer 2007;
Lot 219 in Bensouda (Fez, Morocco) welcomed the 2008 summer workshop with the production of Seamus Farrell’s artwork “U.N. Circle Gwangju.” This work was produced for “Expedition 7 (Relative Homelands),” an exhibition curated by Abdellah Karroum for the 7th Gwangju Biennale 2008. Artistic Director: Okwui Enwezor;
Located in a zone for recycling and small businesses, Lot 219 benefits from its proximity to human resources and the availability of a large diversity of materials.
